Weathered, Worn, Overgrown

These are a few outtakes and fun shots that I took while in Danby Farm photographing The Wild Bunch’s autumn wreath workshop. My favourite part of the entire day was looking inside the overgrown greenhouse with its broken window panes and overwhelming amount of passion flower vines. It evoked all the Miss Havisham feels in me, without that Dickens brand of darkness and cynicism, obviously. Maybe it’s more like the Secret Garden for me… now that I think about it…

These textures are mind-blowing. They bring to mind so many feelings, notably one of insignificance… and that particular mix of melancholy and wonder one gets when you realize you are just a speck in the greater scheme of things. Nature always takes over.

Nassi, Renee, and I spent an inordinate amount of time in this greenhouse after they packed up the workshop. I think you can see why.

Just… magic.
